The Talented Individuals  Programme

The Talented Individuals Programme (TIP), an initiative of the One Economy Foundation, served as a transformative bridge connecting high-potential learners from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to quality education.

Recognising that financial constraints often hinder academic aspirations, TIP collaborated with the private sector to provide comprehensive support, including access to top-tier schools, extracurricular enrichment, financial security, and a strong sense of community.

This holistic approach led to remarkable achievements, with a significant percentage of fellows receiving Best Achiever Awards and several learning opportunities to participate in prestigious leadership programs. By investing in these bright young minds, TIP empowered them to reach their full potential and contribute to a more prosperous Namibia.

Our Impact Stories

Remember Iipinge

1st Year UNAM: BCom Quantitative Finance

“Before TIP came to assist me, it was only my mother and two siblings supporting me. My Economics teacher found out about the TIP programme and helped me apply. The financial burden was lifted, and I was able to attend a private school – it was both a privilege and a transformative experience.

This opportunity opened many doors for me. I took part in the Bank of Namibia competition, and for the first time, I experienced financial stability and food security. Being in a boarding school meant everything was taken care of. I truly would not be where I am today without this programme.”

Final Year Law Student at the University of Namibia

“I owe so much to TIP, but above all, I cherish the lifelong friendships I made. The programme taught me the value of family, the power of resilience, and how to be a light in the darkness. Although I was initially daunted by the scale and wealth of the private school community, I quickly realised it was an opportunity to discover my own potential.”

Sarafia Ewalistus

4th year Medical Student at the University of Namibia

“The Talented Individual Programme (TIP) experience was a game-changer in my academic journey. I often think about where I'd be if TIP hadn't given me the opportunity to study at Windhoek Gymnasium. It opened doors to possibilities that I never thought existed, offering a glimpse into a lifestyle that had previously been out of reach. For me, TIP provided a clear demonstration that my hard work could achieve my goals. It served as a catalyst for my life, propelling me towards new heights.

I was given access to an exceptional education. The programme's support went far beyond just academics; it provided me with the foundation for a brighter future. I still find myself in awe that I'm now in my fourth year of medical school. Moreover, I'm grateful to be a recipient of the prestigious Sam Cohen Scholarship. TIP was truly an answer to my prayers, one that I hadn't even dared to utter. As for Madam Monica Geingos, I'm at a loss for words to express my gratitude. “
